GETTYSBURG an Address
- President Abraham Lincoln’s address in 1865 and its impact on
the war between the states are detailed in this miniature book. The first
book in the series, written by Austin Jones, was published in 1994. It
includes two wood engravings by Jim Horton produced exclusively for this
publication. The skill of engraving images onto wood for printing was
much needed during the 1800’s and today is recognized as an art.
This was the process used to print the images in books and periodicals
such as the “Harper’s Weekly” during the time. This
book contains miniature images of Abraham Lincoln and a battle scene during
the war. Typesetting was done by Jean Jones, with the printing done by
Austin. The binding was done by Linda Donaldson.
