THE BIBLE A Work of Art - The efforts of one man, Johann Gutenberg, to produce on a printing press the product which could not be ignored is the subject of this miniature book. Gutenberg’s printing of the Bible in 1450 is considered by many to be the most important development of the millennium. The second book in the series was published in 1999. This book was produced entirely by Austin and Jean Jones. This book contains a sample printing of the type used to print Gutenberg’s 42 line Bible. Several miniature images appear throughout the book. The text and printing was done by Austin. Jean set the type and did the binding.

THE BIBLE A Work of Art - The second hand printed book in the series was completed in July 1999. It is 2 x 2.5 inches and contains 24 pages. It was printed on a Model No. 4 Press using Century Schoolbook type on Rives Lightweight paper. The binding is black cloth and the end papers have been marbled. The title on the cover is gold foil stamp. Each book is signed and numbered. Limit 100.
